Youth, Knowledge, and Creativity in Action: Egzakta Business Challenge 2024 Final Concludes
On Monday, May 20th, the final of the Egzakta Business Challenge 2024 was held at the premises of the Rome Business School Belgrade executive MBA program in Belgrade, organized in collaboration with the Business Case Association Southeast Europe. This event brought together ten teams, with a total of 44 members, competing to solve a complex business case study.
The case study that the teams worked on was "Processing Waste from Poultry Farms Using Housefly Larvae", a challenging and innovative topic that required a high level and broad spectrum of knowledge, creativity, and practical solutions from the participants. The teams received the information on May 13th and, over the next six days, worked with mentors to develop their solutions. On the final day, six teams were announced to proceed to the finals, where they presented their solutions to a panel consisting of Nemanja Jevtović (BCA SEE), Rastko Damjanović (BCA SEE), Marko Marković (Egzakta Advisory), Nenad Tešić (Egzakta Advisory) and Miloš Palović (Egzakta Advisory).
All teams demonstrated exceptional skills in problem analysis, creating sustainable solutions, and presenting their ideas. The top placements and awards went to the following teams:
1. First Place: Team 4 - Ana Slamarski, Maša Bugarski, Jovana Atanasković, Andrej Tanasijević
2. Second Place: Team 6 - Tijana Ponjarac, Jovana Prvulović, Vladimir Marčak, Vojin Jevtović
3. Third Place: Team 5 - Mia Agić, Bogdana Jovanović, Marija Ognjanović, Milica Jovanović, Ilija Jevtić
Throughout the competition, all teams stood out with their innovative ideas and solutions that could have a significant impact on the waste processing sector and sustainable development. The solutions often involved collaboration with potential partners in an innovative and synergistic manner, which further impressed the jury.
"The Egzakta Business Case Challenge 2024 once again highlighted the importance of connecting academic knowledge with practical application and encouraging young professionals to develop and present their solutions to real business problems. This event also provided us with the opportunity to connect with the most talented students and for them to gain contacts and valuable insights that will help them in their future careers. All participants in the competition will receive a two-day training in finance from us, which we are confident will be extremely valuable in their future careers, and we will discuss with those in their final years about joining us," said Marko Marković, founder of Egzakta Advisory.
"From the first meeting with the Egzakta Advisory team, when we jointly laid the foundations for the case study for the Egzakta Business Challenge, it was a pleasure for me and the representatives of the BCA SEE community to have the opportunity to collaborate and shape the student competition together. Although our students are already familiar with various topics through case studies in regional and global competitions, Egzakta Advisory expanded their horizons and set a challenge that goes beyond the usual business environment.
I sincerely enjoyed being a jury member, listening to what the students managed to accomplish despite all the given challenges in just seven days. I believe that this will be just one of many challenges for the students in the process of learning and growing into true young leaders and professionals. The organizers expressed their satisfaction with the successful conclusion of the competition and announced that they will continue to support and participate in such initiatives that promote innovation, sustainability, and business excellence.
